Feast of the Fallen

A vulture’s baby swore to his father, — “Father, I will eat human flesh!”

The vulture said — “Okay, son, I will bring it in the evening.”

The vulture flew away, and when it returned, it brought a piece of pork in its mouth and kept it at home.

The young vulture exclaimed, “Father, this is pork! I want to eat human flesh!”

The father instructed, “Just wait!” He flew away again, and when he came back, he had brought a dead cow.

The child protested, “Hey, you brought this cow! Where is the human flesh?”

The father vulture then took both pieces—pork and beef—together in his mouth, flew away, and discarded the pork near a mosque and the beef near a temple.

In a short time, a riot started there! Hundreds of dead people fell! The father and son got down from the tree branch then and ate the human flesh with great satisfaction.

The child asked while eating – “Father, how did so much human flesh get here?”

The father explained, “This is how humans are. The Creator made them the best of all creatures, yet in the name of religion and politics, they can become more violent than us!”

The child then questioned, “Why did you use religion? How many innocent people died? You could have accomplished this through politics!”

The father smiled and responded, “Even then, innocent lives would have been lost! Religion stirs deep emotions, leading to immediate consequences! You wanted to eat today! Politics is complex and slow to ignite, but once it starts, it never truly ends!”

The child said – “You are very intelligent, father”

The father vulture replied, “Oh, my! I learn from humans. Whenever they fail to cause harm through one method, they resort to religion or politics as an easier alternative!”
